Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge, New Mexico
Mountain white-crowned sparrow (Z. l. oriantha). This species breeds only in the high mountain ranges of the west and winters in the southwest. It can be distinguished by the short white eyeline that starts at the eye rather than the bill.
