Snail control, Houghton Lake, Michigan. Dispersing the copper sulfate. Copper sulfate is readily dissolved in water, which is not a good attribute for a molluscicide (it rapidly dissolves, quickly disperses, and becomes too weak to be lethal), so it is mixed with lime to form an insoluble compound that lies on the bottom of the lake.
