Butterflyfish are known for their attractive, colorful patterns and graceful looks. They are frequently seen foraging the reef, nibbling on live corals or fish eggs with their tiny mouths. This one is called a Threadfin butterflyfish (Chaetodon auriga), and is about five inches (13 cm) long, a typical size for an adult.
