Larus argentatus (herring gull)

Caption

Herring Gulls (Larus argentatus) are the most common large gull seen up and down the California Coast. These were recorded on the pier in Santa Cruz, where they sit to beg french fries from the tourists. The is the adult gull's normal "song."
