Passer domesticus

A male House (English) Sparrow (Passer domesticus) chirps above the feeder. Did you know that the House Sparrow is not a true sparrow, but a Weaver Finch, originally from Africa? They are also not native to the US, the first pairs were introduced here in 1850.
